In June I will be graduating from UCLA, receiving a B.A. in African American Studies, with an acceptance to Stanford University’s School of Communications Journalism Program.
Attending Stanford has the potential to be a transformative moment for myself, my family, and my community, as I am the first member of my family to graduate from a four-year university.
I wholeheartedly believe that personhood is molded by the community you come from. For myself, I am the second to youngest of five siblings raised in a small home. I need all the support I can get to make this dream a feasible reality.
Stanford estimates my living expenses while attending will be upwards of $30,000 due to the Bay Area housing shortage and affordability crisis. As I continue applying for scholarships, research assistantships, and teaching assistantships, I am in need of immediate financial support to help with my relocation costs, tuition costs, and transition into Stanford.
Every little bit counts and can help to alleviate the additional costs surrounding tuition and living expenses such as books and supplies.
Your investment in my education is greatly appreciated. Thank you for all of your support!
